Coach-Parent Liaison
The Coach/ Parent Liaison is to act in the best interest of the team as a whole. He/ She will communicate to the coaching staff any concerns or questions brought forth by swimmers and/or parents. The Liaison will attend coach meetings with swimmers and/or parents to act as a witness and impartial mediator.
- Meet with Committee and Club Personnel to plan for season
- Confirm registration process and fee amounts
- Meet with Coaches regarding:
- Proposed practice schedule to be finalized once roster numbers are set
- Process for assessing new swimmers
- Optional practices
- Policies to be emphasized at Parent meeting (no talking to coaches at practice, communicating with coaches, lessons, etc)
- How Committee can best assist
- Schedule Old Town Mock Meet
- Work with Communications Chair to:
- Update handbook with schedule, Parent Committee info, Coaches bios, practice schedule
- Send email reminders about registration when forms are available, dates of registration, and Parent info meeting
- Prepare for Parent Informational Meeting
- Make sure club has copies of the Parent Handbook
- Create agenda (make sure to include expectations, volunteer requirements, official training)
- Update roster in Meet Manager prior to start of season
- Maintain Team Records list
- After each meet, check results to see if records were broken. If any records were broken, send information to coaches, Communications Chair, and Club Liaison.
