To have a successful team, there must be an understanding of the roles of parents, swimmers and coaches and how they relate to one another. The head coach and assistant coaches’ role is to motivate and critique the swimmers. The swimmers need to accept instruction from the coach. The parents' role is to encourage and support their child and the team. Keep in mind that everyone has good and bad days. It is the same for swimmers. Even the best swimmers will have meets where they do not do their best. Coaches and parents should be patient and permit the swimmers to progress at their own pace giving praise for personal improvement.

Cara Freeman Assistant Coach

Hi! My name is Cara Freeman, and I will be a swim instructor and assistant coach for FCC this summer. I am a rising junior at Forsyth Country Day School and have aspirations of entering the medical field in the future. While I am a new face to FCC, I am certainly not to the Greater Forsyth Swim League or swimming in general. I have been a competitive swimmer for 11 years, I was captain of my high school swim team this past season, and I am in the process of getting lifeguard certified! One of my biggest passions is spreading the love of swimming that I have found through coaching and mentoring, and I am so excited to get the opportunity to do exactly that. Some of my other passions include playing the violin and piano, traveling around the world, and finding fun activities to do with my friends and family. I am so excited to be a part of the Crazy Ducks this season, I can't wait to jump in!
