Grandview Meet Information & Heat Sheets
Good afternoon, Crazy Ducks!
Below is information for our first AWAY meet against Grandview Swim Club located at 3490 Grandview Club Rd, Pfafftown, NC 27040. This pool is about 15 minutes from FCC.
- Arrive to check swimmers in with Coach Lila at 5pm, warm-ups at 5:15pm, meet starts at 5:30pm. Volunteers check in with Kaitlin Battle.
- Our team will be set up along the fence at the shallow end of the pool. We are bringing tents tonight and the team banner. We are asking all swimmers to remain with the team at the tent between events!
- Documents attached: 1) heat sheet by event; 2) heat sheet by swimmer.
- There are several combined events tonight, take note on the heat sheet.
- We are asking several swimmers to "swim up" from the age group tonight for the team! Coach is confident in each swimmer's ability for their scheduled event. Let's give some extra support to our Crazy Ducks that are helping our team fill out relays and events tonight!
- Parking and Facility
- Parking is challenging at Grandview. They will have individuals helping direct traffic; you are fine if you park along Duffer lane, but NOT in the yards with traffic cones or signs. Neighbors have called police and tow trucks, be aware of the cones.
- The playground and baby pool are closed during the meet and not available for use.
*PLEASE ask questions if you have them!
**All these documents will help you – promise! Please print them if you get a chance.
- All swimmers need to have their first and last name and their swim team age group, written on their back with a permanent marker. Be sure to do this after sunscreen has been applied and dried. Swimmers also need to have each event number, heat, and lane written on their arm with a permanent marker after sunscreen has been applied and dried.
- Please read through the Swim Meet 101 information. At any time if you feel lost or confused, ASK FOR HELP from the Parent Committee.
- Also, consult our list of Things to Bring. Don’t forget GOGGLES! Grandview Swim Club is not Forsyth Country Club. You will need to bring your own chairs and towels. Grandview’s pool deck might be very cozy for us.
- Remind your older swimmer to listen to the announcer and watch the event cards. Swimmers should line up when their event is five events away. Duckling Helpers will guide the younger swimmers.
- Please HYDRATE your children today and have them rest a bit, so they have some energy for tonight!
- Grandview will be selling concessions, so bring your CASH. They will have a "meal deal" of a choice between a burger or two hotdogs with chips and a drink for $7, as well as various candy options and drinks.
- Swimmers are discouraged from bringing electronic devices to use during the meet. Swimmers need to stay with their age groups at all times, especially since we are at an unfamiliar pool.

OTHER ITEMS
Please pick up your family’s trash and towels. Whether at FCC or an away meet, we need to respect the pool deck. There was a lot of trash and so many towels left strewn about after Wednesday’s mock meet. Please clean up after your family so that the Lifeguards, Coaches, and Parent Committee don’t have to.
