Chadwyk Meet Information & Heat Sheets

Good Afternoon Crazy Ducks!

Below is information for our HOME meet against Chadwyk this afternoon! With only two meets to go Coach saw this article and reminded her of all our brave swimmers who have been pushing themselves in events to help the team!

Belgium Team Work Article

Just like our team, this athlete stepped up and put her team first!

Please read through the updates and announcements below as there are a few logistical updates we want all attendees aware of.

REMINDERS

  • Both ends of the pools are for officials and coaches only. Parents and swimmers not participating in relays are not allowed in the roped off section for any reason. Officials and coaches in these sections have authority to request swimmers and parents to step out of the area.
  • Tents will be set up on the side of the pool for home spectators. Further, we are excited to announce the tent closest to the lifeguard stand will now be the "Duck Pond"! This area is reserved for our swimmers to cheer on their teammates!
  • The hospitality cooler is for meet volunteers only. If your swimmer needs water, it is available between the bathrooms with cups!
  • Thank you all swimmers for the improved behavior and listening last week! As with last week, in the event of behavior that is not acceptable, Coach will have the authority to withhold coupons from swimmers. We do anticipate having to do so, but wanted to ensure the parents are aware of expectations!
  • Reminder, the playground is off limits to swimmers during the meet. Coach has requested all swimmers to rest between events, there is to be no horseplay on the grassy hill. Thank you parents for your help enforcing these expectations!

BEFORE ARRIVING

  • The heat sheet for tonight is attached. Also attached is a list of events by swimmer. This list will be posted on the lifeguard hut again tonight.
    • Duckling Helpers & Parents: We are asking several swimmers to swim up from the age group tonight for the team! Coaches will be able to help coordinate additional movement to help have all swimmers in place for their events. Let's give some extra support to our Crazy Ducks that are helping our team fill out relays and events tonight.
  • All swimmers need to have their first and last name and their swim team age group, written on their back with a permanent marker. Be sure to do this after sunscreen has been applied and dried. Swimmers also need to have each event number, heat, and lane written on their arm with a permanent marker after sunscreen has been applied and dried.
  • Please read through the Swim Meet 101 information. At any time if you feel lost or confused, ASK FOR HELP from the Parent Committee.
  • Also, consult our list of Things to Bring. Don’t forget GOGGLES! It will be colder tonight please do not forget jackets for your swimmers.
  • Again, please HYDRATE your children today and have them rest a bit, so they have some energy for tonight!

CHECK-IN AND SET-UP

  • Arrive at 4:45, warm-ups at 5:00pm, meet starts at 5:30pm. Volunteers check in with Kaitlin Battle.
  • After you check in your swimmer with the coaches, take them to the grassy hill and find the blanket by the sign with their age group. Identify your swimmer’s Ducking Helper and introduce them, if needed.
  • Remind your older swimmer to listen to the announcer and watch the event cards. Swimmers should line up with the Deck Manager when their event is five events away. Duckling Helpers will guide the younger swimmers.
  • We, as the home team, set up on the Welcome Hut side of the pool.

DURING THE MEET

  • The baby pool, shallow end, and shallow end ramp are all OFF LIMITS during the swim meet.
  • We have rows of lane chairs set up on top of the four-square court. Our Deck Manager utilizes these to get your swimmers lined up for their events.
  • Our timers move, so all events start in the DEEP end (under the diving boards).
  • Our bar and snack bar will be open during the meet. Additionally, there will be a pool party and buffet following the meet. Please be mindful of their next event if you are feeding them a snack or dinner.
  • Swimmers are discouraged from bringing electronic devices to use during the meet.
  • Swimmers need to stay with their age groups at all times.
  • Please pick up your family’s trash and towels. Clean up after your family so that the Lifeguards, Coaches, and Parent Committee don’t have to.
