The 2025 swim season is starting soon! Swim meet officials play a very important role at all of our swim meets. Please consider getting certified, it is one of the best spots to be at a swim meet!

For each meet FCC will need 4 stroke and turn judge volunteers. In order to volunteer in these roles, you must be certified by the Greater Forsyth Swim League. The starter and referee for each home meet must also be a certified stroke and turn judge, as well as have at least 2 years of certification. A healthy roster of stroke and turn judges is crucial to ensure we have enough officials at every meet.

If you are interested in volunteering at a starter, referee, or stroke and turn judge review the details below and get certified as soon as possible!

Experienced officials: If you have been certified in the previous swim season, the GFSL is offering an online stroke and turn judge test. You only need to complete and pass the online test and are not required to attend an in person clinic. You should have received an email directly from the league with instructions for completing the online test. If you were certified last year and did not receive the email, please let Kate or Raul know!

New officials: The Greater Forsyth Swim league has scheduled 3 in-person clinics this year. These clinics are designed for new officials who have never officiated in the GFSL before and will cover the fundamentals of each stroke. If you are new to stroke & turn, attendance at an in-person clinic is required to become certified for the 2025 swim season. A short test will also be taken at the end of the clinic.
