Crazy Ducks practice updates, time trials and more for the coming week!
Happy Wednesday Crazy Ducks!
As we finish up the second week of practice and head into Memorial Day weekend, we have a good number of reminders and action items.
High dive test for swimmers under 13 on Thursday, May 22
Forsyth Country Club requires any children under 13 to pass a swim test prior to being able to use the high dive. As a convenience for our Crazy Ducks swimmers, we will be offering this test at the end of each practice group tomorrow, May 22.
No practice on Memorial Day and morning practice starts Wednesday, May 28
We will not have practice on Monday, May 26. We will see you back in the pool on Tuesday, May 27.
Morning practices begin on Wednesday, May 28. Morning practices will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through the end of the season. Evening practice will continue Monday-Thursday, as well. Swimmers are not expected to attend both morning and afternoon practices on days they are both offered. You are welcome to attend the practices sessions that work best for your family. We realize that some weeks that may mean attending some morning and some evening practices and that is great too!
Ducklings in training: For our youngest Ducklings who may not be quite ready for competition, we invite you to attend practice sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5-5:30. During these practices, our coaches will dedicate a lane specifically for these swimmers to continue development of their swim skills and confidence.
For specific age group practice times, visit Swimtopia - Practice Schedule - Forsyth Country Club Crazy Ducks.
Time Trials on Thursday, May 29
We will hold time trials on Thursday evening, May 29th beginning at 5:30pm. Time trials give FCC swimmers and volunteers a chance to experience a meet-like atmosphere with friendly intrasquad competition. The events during time trials will be a subset of those of a regular dual meet, including relays only for our youngest swimmers.
Please visit Swimtopia - Calendar - Forsyth Country Club Crazy Ducks as soon as possible and let our coaches know if your swimmer is participating in time trials by indicating that they will be attending or not attending. This will help us plan the events and heats accordingly.
We need more volunteers for time trials, so please sign up for jobs while you are declaring your swimmer attendance!
Certified Stroke & Turn Officials needed
Our team needs additional certified stroke and turn officials for this season. There is one more in -person stroke and turn clinic being offered by the league on May 28th, 7pm, at Brookberry Farm. Please consider registering and attending so that you can volunteer for this important job at swim meets. The in-person clinic is only required for those who have not been certified in the past seasons. Register now at Greater Forsyth Swim League: 2025 Stroke & Turn Clinic.
As a reminder, if you have been a certified stroke & turn official in the past seasons, you should have received an invitation to complete the online certification test. Please complete this as soon as possible or let us know if you did not receive the email from the GFSL.
Housekeeping roundup…
Our first regular season meet is Tuesday, June 3rd at New Sherwood Pool. Let’s make sure you are ready for this season to go into full swing!
