Welcome back Crazy Ducks - Practice starts this Monday, May 4

Welcome back Crazy Ducks!

“If you are ready to get “Crazy”, work hard and have FUN…see you at practice next week as we kickoff our 2026 Crazy Duck Season!!” - Coach Doug Ford

We are so excited to welcome back Coach Doug Ford. He is certainly looking forward to seeing all of our new and returning Crazy Ducks at practice starting next week. Over 140 swimmers are registered for the Crazy Ducks!!

Practice starts May 4th

Afternoon practice begins this Monday, May 4. Afternoon practices will be held throughout the entirety of the season Monday through Thursday. Morning practices will be added beginning Monday, June 1. Visit the Crazy Ducks Swimtopia site to view the full 2026 Practice Schedule, times for each age group and dates when practice will not be held due to swim meets or holidays.

Practice Information (Starting May 4th)

6 & Under: M-Th | 4:45 pm - 5:15 pm

Ages 7-9: M-Th | 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm

10 & Older: M-Th | 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

You should have received an email from FCC regarding parking changes next week. In brief, pavement work is being completed in the fitness center lot and it is recommended to park in the employee lot across from the pool until the fitness center lot is reopened.

Team suits and fan gear

Team suits are optional and can be purchased on our FCC Swim Outlet team site. Suits can be ordered with or without the team logo. If you are unsure of your swimmer’s size, it is recommended to order without the logo so that it can be returned/exchanged. Please order soon to ensure that your suit arrives well ahead of our first swim meet in June. During this busy time, it is not unusual for logo items to take 2 weeks or so to ship. Additionally on Swim Outlet you will find gear like swim bags and goggles, plus fan gear including tanks, tees, and sweatshirts.

For all practices and meets, swimmers should have mirrored goggles, a competition swimsuit, and a swim cap. Team caps will be included in the swimmer swag bags which will be available ahead of our first meet. We will not have caps for practice starting next week. If your swimmer does not have a cap for practice next week, please be sure their hair is secured back and away from their face.

Coach Doug would like to incorporate swim fins and pull buoys into practice drills this season. If your swimmer has these items already, please bring those with you to practice (recommend putting their name on them so that they do not end up in the bottomless lost and found bin). These items are optional, but if you would like to purchase the items you can find them easily on Swim Outlet or Amazon. Some examples include: short fins and pull buoy.

Get the SwimTopia app

If you have not done so, go ahead and download the free Swimtopia app. During the season we will communicate via email but also through the app notifications. App notifications will be especially helpful if we have any type of practice or meet delays due to weather. While we will also send an email, the app notifications are more efficient for these time sensitive communications!

On the app, you can also declare your swimmer for meets, sign up for volunteer positions, and keep track of your swimmer’s results. Mock Meet and all dual meets are now open to declare your swimmer and sign up for job shifts. Please let us know if your swimmer will be attending or not attending each meet and sign up to volunteer.

Calling all volunteers

First… HUGE CRAZY DUCKS THANK YOU to Sara Loebner, our volunteer chair for the 2026 season! We appreciate Sara stepping up to help keep our volunteers organized and positions filled. It is impossible to run a meet without our volunteers. Job sign up is also available now through Swimtopia. Let’s make Sara's job simple and go ahead and get those volunteer jobs filled up!

Kids club is available during the mock meet and all home meets from 4:30-9pm. Sign-ups available on the Forsyth County Club app and are limited to 24 children each evening.

An important note on Stroke and Turn, we are awaiting the dates and sign up links for the GFSL stroke and turn clinics. If you have not been a stroke and turn judge before but would like to be, you will need to attend an in person clinic. As soon as we receive the details and links from the GFSL we will pass this along. The GFSL will be offering an online re-certification for returning stroke and turn judges. Again, once we have the details we will share this as well!
