Happy Friday Crazy Ducks! Big week coming up with our time trials/mock meet on Thursday, May 21st at 5:30pm.  FCC is hosting the upcoming Stroke and Turn Officials Clinic on May 19th at 7pm.  We also have some changes to the coupon structure this year.  All details below!

Practice Week of May 18

Afternoon practice continues next week, Monday through Wednesday. Time trials/mock meet on Thursday, May 21...more details on that below. Practice times for each age group are:

6 & Under: M-Th | 4:45 pm - 5:15 pm

Ages 7-9: M-Th | 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm

10 & Older: M-Th | 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Time Trials/Mock Meet on May 21st

We are looking forward to having our Crazy Ducks in the pool this Thursday, May 21st for the Time Trials/Mock Meet. The event begins at 5:30pm.  Please plan to arrive between 4:30-5pm, with warm-ups from 5-5:25pm.  We anticipate the meet running approximately 2 hours.  Only 6 & unders will swim a freestyle relay event.  All swimmers will then compete individually in each stroke for their age division (8 and under will swim freestyle and backstroke; 9 and up swim all 4 strokes).  The primary goals for the evening are to 1. give swimmers an opportunity to post times to help inform entries for our upcoming dual meets and 2. allow everyone a chance to experience the feel of a meet - coaches, swimmers, and volunteers.

We also need additional volunteers to make the evening a success.  Using the same link above or the SwimTopia app, please sign up to volunteer if you have not done so already.  Sibling Kids Club is available through the FCC app.

Volunteers still needed are:

• Scorer (1) - If you are interested in scoring but do not see this option available in the sign up link, email me and we can get you added!
• Stroke and Turn Officials (3) - If you are attending the S&T clinic to become certified for the 2026 season, email me and we can make this available to you for sign up as well.
• Timers (6)
• 6 & Under Duckling Helper (1)

The snack bar will not be open during the meet, however the FCC culinary team will have a buffet available under the pavilion.  The buffet is complimentary for swimmers and member sign for adults.

Stroke and Turn Officials Clinic on May 19th

The Greater Forsyth Swim League will host a Stroke and Turn Officials Clinic at Forsyth Country Club on May 19th at 7pm. If you are interested in becoming a Stroke and Turn judge, please register to attend. We need 4 Stroke and Turn Officials each meet! Sign-up genius for the clinic: 2026 New Officials Clinic.

Returning S&T Officials: The GFSL sent out the email with your personal link to complete the online re-certification test. If you have been certified as a Stroke and Turn Official in the past several seasons, you should have received this email Wednesday, 5/6. You must pass the test to remain an official for the 2026 season, but you do not have to attend the in person clinic. If you did not receive a link, please let me know so we can double check your email address and request it be resent.

Coupons

In years past, swimmers have received 1 coupon per event swam at each meet.  The coupons could be used for various items at the snack bar, up to combining multiple coupons for a kids meal.  This season we will be changing this to better align our swim team budget and simplify the coupon process.  Swimmer will receive 1 coupon per meet that can be redeemed at the snack bar for a complimentary kids meal.  Coupons will be awarded for dual meet participation only. Swimmers will not receive coupons for time trials/mock meet, City Meet, or Finals. We will make every effort to have swimmer coupons and ribbons available for pickup from the lifeguard hut by Friday morning following each dual meet.  

There is no change to Volunteer Coupons.  Volunteers can earn a coupon for each meet, including time trials/mock meet and Finals.  Volunteer coupons can be redeemed at the snack bar for a complimentary entree. Volunteer coupons will be provided at check-in for each meet, or available in the lifeguard hut if not picked up at the meet.

Order your team suit soon!

SwimOutlet estimated 10-15 for shipping of custom logo items. If you have not ordered your team suit, I highly recommend getting that order placed ASAP so that your have your suit before our first meet on June 2.  Team suits are optional and can be purchased on our FCC Swim Outlet team site. Suits can be ordered with or without the team logo. If you are unsure of your swimmer’s size, it is recommended to order without the logo so that it can be returned/exchanged. Additionally on Swim Outlet you will find equipment like swim bags and goggles, plus fan gear including tanks, tees, and sweatshirts.
