Happy Friday, Crazy Ducks! Great job at our first away meet vs New Sherwood this week.  Even though we did not outscore the Stingrays, our swimmers swam hard and we had a number of PRs!  Let's look ahead to next week and a little beyond.  We have 2 regular dual meets remaining and then on to the GFSL Finals on 7/12.

• FCC travels to Sherwood for an away meet next Tuesday, June 30; deadline to declare your swimmer is Sunday, June 28.
• Last regular season meet is Tuesday, July 7 at Peace Haven; deadline to declare your swimmer is Sunday, July 5.
• GFSL Finals are on Sunday, July 12th at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Swimmer and volunteer sign ups are open!  
• Crazy Ducks End of Season Banquet and Pool Party is Wednesday, July 15. RSVP on the FCC club app.

Away Meet June 30th vs Sherwood

The Crazy Ducks will visit the Sherwood Sharks on Tuesday, June 30th at 5:30pm. Remember to bring towels and chairs to away meets. As of this morning, we have 64 swimmers undeclared. Let us know if your swimmer is attending or not attending. The deadline to declare your swimmer is Sunday, June 28th by 5pm.

We have a number of volunteer positions to fill for Tuesday's meet. Jobs still open include both girls and boys helpers for all 10 and under age groups, as well as 4 more timers needed (1 - First shift, 3 - Second shift).

Away Meet July 7th vs Peace Haven

The Crazy Ducks will visit the Peace Haven dolphins on Tuesday, July 7th at 5:30pm. THis will be our last regular season dual meet. The deadline to declare your swimmer is Sunday, July 5th by 5pm.

GFSL Finals on July 12

The Greater Forsyth Swim League Finals will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center (the GAC) on Sunday, July 12th. Finals consist of two sessions: Session 1 (10 and under) and Session 2 A/B (11 and up; 2A-Girls and 2B-Boys). During the morning session, all events will take place in the same pool. In the afternoon, the sessions are split into two pools, one for girls and one pool for boys. The afternoon girls and boys events run concurrently. When you sign up in Swimtopia, you do need to select the specific session for your swimmer based on their age and gender. Swimmers do need to have swam in at least 2 regular season dual meets to be eligible for Finals.  If your swimmer has not met this eligibility, you will not be able to sign them up until after their second meet attendance.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you swimmer is attending or not attending Finals! We will need to begin working on our entries to meet the strict July 9th deadline from the GFSL. After entries are submitted we have little to no flexibility, with changes limited only to scratches. 

Want to be closer to the action? Volunteer! Parents are not allowed on the deck without official/volunteer credentials. Each team is asked to provide at least 2 Stroke and Turn Officials and a Timer for each session/pool (3 timers total-1 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon). FCC also shares morning Hospitality duties with several other teams, so we need a few volunteers to help with this position as well. I have emailed all those qualified Stroke & Turn Officials.  We still need at least one more and must submit these names by Tuesday, June 30th.  If you can S&T at finals, please respond to that specific email ASAP.

End of Season Banquet and Pool Party July 15

The Crazy Ducks End of Season Banquet will be held in the FCC ballroom on Wednesday, July 15 at 5:30pm.  After dinner and awards, we will head out to the pool for a pool party and ice cream! RSVP on the FCC club app>Upcoming Events. Coaches can let Coach Doug know if you and your family are planning to attend.

Practice Week of June 29

Morning and afternoon practices continue next week. Practice times for each age group are:

AM Practice

6 & under: M-W-F | 9:00 am-9:30 am

7 & older: M-W-F | 9:30 am-10:30 am

PM Practice

6 & Under: M-W-Th | 4:45 pm - 5:15 pm

Ages 7-9: M-W-Th | 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm

10 & Older: M-W-Th | 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Coupons and Ribbons from New Sherwood can be picked up

Coupons and participation ribbons from the New Sherwood meet are ready to be picked up! Due to a printing issue, I do not have place ribbons ready just yet, but will get those into your folders later today or early next week. You can pick up ribbons and coupons from the welcome hut anytime during regular pool hours.
